FAQ

How much does a week at Camp Wiregrass cost?

The cost to attend Camp Wiregrass is $95.00. This includes all lodging, meals, activities, and daily snacks at canteen time. A $15.00 deposit is due with each application to reserve a spot and the remaining balance of $80.00 is due at check-in time. ALL FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE.

Are there any family discounts?

There is a discount for families sending more than one child to camp if CHILDREN ARE MEMBERS OF THE SAME IMMEDIATE FAMILY (BROTHERS, SISTERS) AND APPLICATIONS ARE MAILED TOGETHER IN ONE ENVELOPE. If both conditions are met, the first child is $95.00 and the remaining children are $90.00 each. APPLICATIONS NOT MAILED TOGETHER ARE NOT GIVEN ANY DISCOUNTS.

How do I determine the correct week to apply for?

Applications are accepted for the grade your child will be completing in May or June just before camp sessions begin. For example, if your child will have completed tenth grade this spring, he/she is eligible to apply for the senior session (10th, 11th, or 12th grade week). If your child will be finishing the ninth grade this spring, he/she would apply for one of the junior high sessions and so on. Spaces are limited and each week’s activities are geared for a particular age group making your child’s week at camp the best it can be.

How do I apply to come as a camper to Wiregrass?

Print out a camper application and complete all three sections of the application. You may mail, fax or email your application with a copy of your Medicaid/Health Insurance card to Camp Wiregrass (See address). If you do not receive a response from your application within 14 days, please phone the office or email us.

What do I need to bring to Camp Wiregrass?

With clothing, it is essential that what you wear is both comfortable and modest in appearance. At Camp Wiregrass, we want our campers to be able to enjoy all of our activities in the warm southern weather but, in the same MODEST APPAREL CHRIST WOULD APPRECIATE IF HE CAME TO VISIT. For boys, we suggest jeans, modest tshirts and shorts. For girls, we suggest jeans, skirts, capris, properly fitting shirts, and shorts just above the knee. NO SHORT SHORTS, MINIS, OR EXPOSED TUMMIES ARE ALLOWED. You will need at least two pairs of jeans and a pair of tennis shoes for hiking (footwear must be worn at all times). You will also need something to wear for the banquet, sleepwear, a swimsuit, and a robe/cover-up for wearing to the pool. Here are a few other things you’ll need. Please write your name on your belongings.
