Meet Our Directors

Josh Webster is the Senior High session director at Camp Wiregrass. His first trip to camp was in 1992 as a camper and as he grew, so did his love for the work here. He served as counselor, village chief and, in 2006 became a junior high director. In 2018, he assumed his present role. Josh and his family live in Florence, Alabama where he works as the Campus Minister and Director of the University of North Alabama Christian Student Center.

Keith Ellis is the director for the first 7 TH , 8 TH & 9 TH grade week at Camp Wiregrass. He has been serving as a director for over 40 years now and, most of that time has been spent with junior high campers. Keith has also served as past chairman of the camp board. One of his greatest pleasures at camp is working with second and third generation campers. Keith is the minister of the College Avenue Church of Christ in Enterprise, Alabama. He and his, Lynn, wife live in Daleville, Alabama.

Ricky Streetman is the director for the first 5 TH & 6 TH grade session at Camp Wiregrass. He began coming to camp in 1975 and served as a counselor for 4 weeks that summer. In 1981, he became director for the second junior high week and in the late 80s switched to the second 5 TH & 6 TH grade week, later moving to his present director position. Ricky, a retired public educator, also serves as chairman of the camp board. He and his wife, Deborah, live in Montgomery and attend Vaughn Park Church of Christ where Ricky taught teen classes and was a deacon for many years.

Bart Boothe is the director for the first 3 RD & 4 TH grade week at Camp Wiregrass. He began coming to camp as a young camper who volunteered to be a counselor when he became of age. In 2011, a director’s slot opened and, Bart eagerly accepted the position which he still holds today. Originally from Opp, Alabama, he and his family now call Dothan home. Bart is an attorney and a member of the Westgate Church of Christ.

Alan Watkins is the director for the 1 ST & 2 ND grade week at Camp Wiregrass. His tenure began in 1988 and has continued to be the very first camp experience for many of our campers. Frequently, his former campers bring their own children to Alan’s camp week. Alan’s two younger children grew up with camp and now his grandchildren are continuing the tradition. Though there have been several moves in his career, Camp Wiregrass has remained a constant in his family’s life. Alan and his wife, Janice, live in Decatur, Alabama where he is the minister of Grant Street Church of Christ.

A.J. Gooch is the director for the second 7 TH , 8 TH & 9 TH grade week at Camp Wiregrass. He and his wife, Hannah, began as campers and counselors in 2000. In 2017, A.J. filled in for the senior director who was unable to come. Then, in 2018, a director’s position came open and, A.J. gladly accepted the opportunity to serve. A.J. and Hannah want Camp Wiregrass to become as special for their three daughters and campers, as it is for them. A.J. and his family live in Florence, Alabama where he is the Family Minister for Stony Point Church of Christ.

Jeff Linder is the director for the second 5 TH & 6 TH grade week at Camp Wiregrass. He began his tenure as a director in 2017 but has been a part of camp for about the last 10 years and still counsels for other directors as well. Camp is a special family affair for him, his wife Angie and their daughters. Jeff retired from public education after 25 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. After 22 years as a youth deacon, he is currently the Youth Minister for Westgate Church of Christ in Dothan, Alabama. Originally from Geneva, he now resides in Dothan.

Jack Madaris is the director for the second 3 RD & 4 TH grade week at Camp Wiregrass. Camp is a dear spot for Jack as he and his wife, Donna, met as campers here back in the seventies. Once his children were camper age, he returned as a counselor and camp became a family affair. In 1994, Jack was delighted to serve when former director, Tab Easterly retired. Jack and his wife live in Panama City, Florida where he has been active in youth and children’s ministry at Palo Alto Church of Christ. He is also retired from State Farm Insurance.
